Energize West Virginia with Natural Gas is a non-profit alliance established in 2006 to gain statewide understanding of the natural gas industry in West Virginia. It is a cooperative venture between two of West Virginia's leading energy associations: WVONGA (West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association) and IOGA-WV (Independent Oil and Gas Association of West Virginia). With generous financial commitments by member companies, Energize West Virginia works toward informing and educating citizens about the natural gas industry and the tremendous benefits of this energy source.
Energize West Virginia focuses specifically on educational programs that allow students to learn more about the natural gas industry. Energize West Virginia works closely with vocational, technical and high education institutions to promote programs to train prospective employees.
Energize West Virginia has been acknowledged for its work by several state and national organizations. Since Energize West Virginia was launched in 2006, we have received the following awards and accolades:
- 8 National “Pollie” Awards from the American Association of Political Consultants. The Pollie Awards are the highest honor bestowed by the national organization to recognize the best in political consulting and public affairs.
- 10 “Addy” Awards from the West Virginia Advertising Federation including its coveted Judges Choice last year for the Energize Soft Environmental Footprint Campaign.
- 1 Crystal Award from the West Virginia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for the Energize Teacher Training Program.
- 1 National “Reed” Award from the prestigious Washington D.C.-based Politics Magazine for a John Corbett radio spot for Energize WV.
- The 2010 Chairman’s Stewardship Award from the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission for the Best Energy Education Program in the nation.
